I have always imagined my life as a housewife & mother. I had many things I was excited to do like cook for my husband. It was something I frequently discussed in our boyfriend-girlfriend stage of life. I've mentioned before that my husband & I are high school sweethearts. That's another topic I'll add later on. ...When it came time to making dinner our first few weeks of marriage I had many good ideas. But once that 3rd week approached, when I say I was stumped oh boy was I! I want to give you all 13 good food ideas that I've made for dinner. 13 because that's my husband favorite number. I'll add more later on in the next few days to a week. This is all pretty "budget" friendly. I try not to go over $50, $55 max for groceries every week. & so far I've done really well. I usually meal plan for Sunday-Thursday. My husband gets paid every Friday, so every Friday we go out to eat. & Saturdays is "his" day to decide what I make for dinner or if we go out to eat. We usually go out on Fridays & get To-Go food on Saturdays. Enough chit-chat. Let's get on to the 13 dinner ideas. Enjoy below. ☀️🎊
*🍝Spaghetti & Texas toast with veggies as a side. (You can Never go wrong with this combo. I don't think I need to go over the ingredients of this well known dish. I will note I use Prego sauce. There is none better than good ol' Prego.)
*🥗(Southwest) Chicken Bowl. I use salad as the base. Ingredients: Avacado ( Sliced or chopped up), shredded cheese, tomato, boiled egg (peeled & chopped up or sliced), black beans, corn, chicken, bell pepper (I used red & green bell pepper) & salad dressing of choice. We love Bolthouse Cilantro Avacado & classic Kraft Italian dressing. I also either make biscuits or have Hawaiian sweet rolls with it. It's so good. Hearty, healthy & filling! I also forgot to add I also served a soup with this. Do your soup of choice. Also the picture you see at the top of this page is this dinner.
*🍤Shrimp alfredo (Self explanatory but I do want to add I put a little olive oil in the skillet, fry up the shrimp for about 10-15 minutes. & use salt, pepper, a little butter & more seasonings to add to it for more flavor. Make sure to rinse off the shrimp before cooking. I also use Prego Alfredo for the main part. My favorite noodles to use with this dish is either Angel hair pasta noodles or fettuccine noodles.)
*🍋Lemon tilapia with wild rice & green beans. (Ingredients are self explanatory.)
*🍗BBQ sandwhichs with chips & veggie side of choice. (Ingredients self explanatory.)
*🍕Pizza!! (I never did say all of the list was gonna be homemade.) (; You can either order pizza, we like stuffed crust from Pizza Hut or we get the made pizzas the Walmart deli makes. & I add to it. More cheese. Bell pepper, meat. I usually serve with it a small salad & a type of fruit. Usually apples sliced up with Carmel dipping sauce. YUM YUM! 👅
*🍜Udon noodle stir fry. Fun fact about this dish one of my previous nanny "mom" taught me how to make this dish. It's really simple & good! Ingredients: Udon noodles, (cook as package says), soy sauce, honey (too sweeten slightly.) I added my own twist to this by adding: bell peppers & broccoli & other veggies. I heat up in skillet with a little olive oil, salt, pepper & other seasonings.
*🥞Breakfast food. This is a great easy one. & many options! To name a few: pancakes, French toast, scrambled (cheese) eggs, omlet, bacon, sausage, waffles.
*🍚crock pot roast with white rice & mashed potatoes. (I have my own recipe for this. But not too ready to give up the recipe just yet. However I will supply a drool worthy pic below. 🤗😉 We had extra shrimp leftover from the previous night, so I added it to my husbands dish.
*🥘 Soup!! One of my husband & I fav soup that I make is a Italian tortillini cheese soup. I usually serve it with Hawaiian sweet rolls & put the soup over white rice. I'm literally thinking about the goodness typing about it. I honestly might make this, next week! I'm currently on strict bedrest, so I'm not suppose to technically be up & cooking. I must make a confession tho, I still do be on my feet daily to cook dinner for Joshua, or make his plate with leftovers before he comes home from work. But now I make enough food so that it'll last 3-4 days at a time. Which means I can do my bedrest "time."
*🌮🥙 Tacos! This one is really simple & easy. Rotisserie chicken (shredded) or Fajita chicken, shredded cheese, salsa, hard shell tacos or tortillas, avacado. I usually serve with a side rice & black beans, & depending if I remember queso & chips! Yum!
